Lasers:
The word LASER is an acronym for Light Amplification by the Stimulated Emission of Radiation. A laser produces a beam of highly concentrated light. Different types of lasers produce different colours of light. The colour of light produced by a particular laser is one of the keys to it's effect on hair follicles.

How it works:
Light is made up of packets of energy called photons. A laser produces light just like a light bulb; however, there are three differences between the light produced by a laser and a lightbulb:

1) The light from a lightbulb radiates in all directions, and the intensity of the light decreases as you move away from the lightbulb. With a laser the photons are parallel, go in the same direction, and are in phase with each other, and the intensity does not decrease very much with distance.

2) Lightbulbs produce light that is white or yellow-white because it contains all the colors and wavelengths of visible light. Laser produces light of one wavelength and one color.

3) The light from a laser is much more intense meaning that there are many more photons per unit area. In fact, lasers produce more photons than the sun per unit area.

The light emitted by the LaserLight Diode Laser Is well absorbed by the pigment located in hair follicles. The laser pulses for a fraction of a second, just long enough to vaporize the pigment, disabling numerous follicles at a time to eliminate or significantly impede hair growth.
